Bernadette Peters

 

Bernadette Peters, born Lazzara, was born February 28 1948. She is an American actor, singer, and children's book author. In her career of six decades, she has appeared on television, film as well as in musical theatre. She also gave concert performances on her own as well as recorded. She is an acclaimed Broadway performer, receiving seven nominations for Tony Awards, winning two (plus an honorary award), and nine Drama Desk Award nominations, which she won three. Grammy Awards have been won by four of the Broadway album cast which she has appeared on.



 



 Many consider Peters as the best Stephen Sondheim interpreter. She is especially well-known for her performances on Broadway including Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (1884), Song and Dance (1885), Into the Woods with George (1987), The Goodbye Girl (1993), Annie Get Your Gun (1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2010), Follies (2009) and Hello, Dolly (2018).
